THE SPORTING UTILITY OF A WITTNAUER SWISS QUARTZ FIELD WATCH
This Wittnauer Swiss quartz field watch captures the practical, outdoors-leaning design language of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Its stainless steel case, compass-style bezel, and bold white dial give it a purposeful sport-watch presence without feeling overly aggressive. At roughly 39mm, it wears with modern proportions while still carrying the character of a transitional-era quartz tool watch.
The dial is clean, bright, and highly legible: large outlined Arabic numerals, luminous-style hands, a red central seconds hand, and a date window at 3 o’clock. The compass bezel adds visual interest and utility, giving the watch more personality than a standard field quartz. The design feels functional first, but with enough detail to make it distinctive.
Inside is a Swiss-movement quartz caliber, offering accurate, low-maintenance timekeeping. This was the era when quartz watches had become fully established as dependable everyday pieces, and this Wittnauer reflects that practicality. It is not trying to be delicate or formal; it is built around ease of use, legibility, and casual wearability.
Fitted to its stainless steel bracelet with black center accents, the watch has a rugged sport profile with a slightly early-2000s character. The contrast between the white dial, steel case, black bracelet detailing, and red seconds hand gives it a sharp, utilitarian look. A clean and wearable Wittnauer field-style quartz: practical, distinctive, and quietly uncommon.

Condition report
This Wittnauer is in excellent pre-owned condition overall. The crystal is exceptionally clean and presents at roughly 10/10, with no notable visible wear. The case, bezel, and bracelet show normal signs of use consistent with a pre-owned watch, including light surface marks from handling and wear, but nothing excessive. The watch presents very well on wrist.
Water resistance has not been tested. Given the watch’s age and the likelihood that the gaskets are original, it should not be considered water resistant unless professionally tested.
